This study ~i-as undertaken to assess the hematologial effect of testosterone, du~abolin and prednisolone on estrogen induced anemic rats with the following results.
1. After a period of feu¢¥- wee¢¥ss a significant reduction in both hemoglobin and reticul~cytes was observed in the rats receiving only estradiol benzoate.
2. A concomitant use of estradiol benzoate and te;~tosterone revealed no alteration. in hemoglobin but a marked increase in reticulocytes.
3. A concomitant use of estradiol benzoate and dur~abolin disclosed more remarkable enhancement ¢¥ of hemoglobin, reticulocytes, marrow nucleated red cells as well as erythrocyte o9Fe incorporation , as compared tp the former group.
4. Hematologically, no appreciable difference vas noted between a group with concomitant use ~; ^f estradiol benzoate and prednisolone, and t!~e group receiving only estradiol benzoate.
